Program Concept


LDPL has started its Cattle Farm with a humble beginning with herd strength of 1000 Cattle at its farm in the first phase. Upon realization of the short term goal in terms of number of cows vis-à-vis scales of economy, LDPL is firm on setting up of a large number of hi-tech cattle farming projects in the states of Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, etc. professionally managing about 10,000 milking cattles at all times.


LDPL expects to rear and produce the finest Cattle in the country. The company has developed linkages with the World’s top Cattle Breeders from USA, UK, Brazil, Israel, etc. which clubbed together maintain over 5000 genetic lines with milk yield performances as high as 16000 liters per lactation. LDPL’s breeding program is supported by intensive selection and culling procedures observed at the farm. Shortly, the company would introduce an embryo transfer technology (ETT) laboratory for in-house research and development activities. The embryos would also be used in non-productive cows to best utilize the resources. The ETT Lab would be professionally managed by well qualified and tested animal breeders.


Implementation of a critically designed ‘progeny testing program’ to gather and log accurate breed and performance data from selected bulls would lead to assured off springs with better levels of resistance and enhanced performance traits. LDPL would also generate a hi-tech semen processing facility for collection, storage, farm consumption and supplies. This effort would bring LDPL’s name in the list of the top farms of Asia with excellent pedigreed semen bank facility.


The feed and fodder supplies are being supplemented from company owned/managed fodder cultivation farm spreading over 100 acres. A dedicated team of forage experts are handling the production planning, crop protection and cultivation activities with the help of most innovative technology cultivation and harvesting equipment. The team is also conducting several trials at a company owned Green House with an objective to enhance the unit area production of green forages. These forage production farms are sustaining on the NEDAP Compost which is a highly fertile organic process residue during bio-gas production. The liquid manure collected at the farm is also mechanically sprayed on green fields to enhance the nitrogen content in the soil while acting as a natural insecticide. This effort is being made to fulfill our commitment to feed our herd with forages that are free from residues of chemical fertilizers and insecticides to ensure cattle health vis-à-vis clean organic milk.


Prevention of methane gas emission has been the utmost concern of the company and hence the farm is equipped with a 1000 cubic meter capacity bio-gas digester producing purified methane gas (molecular sieve technology) sufficient to replace more than 50% requirement of electricity at the farm. The company has also registered itself with UNFCCC for carbon credits (CER) trading. The CER trading would also generate handsome revenues within three years.


LDPL is keen on contributing in the National GDP by way of supporting the small to marginal dairy farmers in setting up of small dairy farms, ranging between 2 – 20 cows under a tripartite agreement with the banks. Under this program, the company is offering guarantee of repayment of loans to the financial institutions on behalf of these farmers. The participating farmers in return have to produce and sell the milk to LDPL at prevailing market prices. LDPL’s objective is to motivate about 2000 producer farmers to participate in this mutually beneficial model.

LDPL has setup a Training & Extension Centre to impart training to the participating producer farmers on selection and procurement of cattle, vaccination & healthcare, breeding & AI, feeding practices, clean milk production, etc. The Training & Extension Centre is managed by qualified Dairy Extension professionals and experts from various research institutions are invited to impart specialized training to these farmers from time to time.


LDPL is about to setup a milk processing plant (50,000 liter/day) to maintain the highest levels of hygiene and food safety for its consumers. The milk processing plant would have all necessary infrastructures to pack different grades of pasteurized milk and manufacture value added products like Cheese, Paneer, Channa, Khoa, Yoghurt, Probiotic Curd, Sterilized Flavored milk, etc.
